He cut his teeth on the south Texas club circuit in the mid 80's. Then continued to ply his trade throughout Europe in the 90's & early 2000's. While in Europe he accumulated many hours as a session guitarist & singer. Playing with many diverse artists ranging from Funk & R&B, to Big Band & Swing, Country & of course, Rock. Darrell co-wrote an instructional book on Country Guitar Styles, which can still be purchased on Amazon.de. During his time in Europe he recorded an album for the Mercedes corporation as a member of a sponsored group known as Venus Blue. Darrell also performed in front of a hometown crowd of 80,000 with the German band, PUR. After returning from Europe in 2005, he started playing with several bands on the Texas coast. However, Hurricane Harvey destroyed his coastal home. Darrell moved to San Antonio for a few years before returning to the place he calls home - the Texas Coastal Bend. Legally blind since 2017, he still performs without missing a beat. Darrell performs solo using his name. He also performs with the much loved coastal bend band, The Lucky Dogz.
